Professional Development Specialist
General
Summary:
Under general supervision, facilitates learning opportunities for a variety of clinical programs and target audiences.
Leads and maintains clinical/nursing programs and courses.
Continually assesses audience learning needs and evaluates impact of learning outcomes.
Works in conjunction with Instructional Design team in the assessment and development of new learning solutions, sometimes as the subject matter expert.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Coordinates the education process (clinical and non-clinical) for a defined target audience of WellSpan staff including assessing educational needs, planning, developing and delivering appropriate education and training, and evaluating education outcomes.
May act as subject matter expert for the development of new learning solutions for targeted audiences.
Develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate on-boarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnelFunctions as an educational consultant to departments, service lines or entities for System-wide or entity-wide initiatives requiring education and training.
Contributes to the enhancement of organizational, team and individual performance through the appropriate and measurable evaluation of education interventions.
Facilitates the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of WellSpan clinical education programs.
Provides consultation services throughout WellSpan regarding education/training.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of competencies for clinical positions within WellSpan Utilizes appropriate external education resources to evaluate courses for presentation within WellSpan.
Prepares staff to promote population health across the continuum of carePromotes transfer of knowledge, skills and attitudes for clinical synthesis and application to practiceIdentifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
Develops relationships to increase growth capacity among learnersConnects others to knowledge/resources within and outside of nursingParticipate in shared governance process as requested to collaborate on quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Uphold the goals and values of WellSpan and the Nursing Strategic Plan.

Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education Master's DegreeMinimum Experience 5 - 8 years NursingReq Cert/Registration Current RN license in PA NPD certification not required, but highly recommendedSkills:
Other Assignment may require knowledge of computer software and operations.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
