Dietary ServicesReports to:
Director, Dietary ServicesNature of WorkThis position is responsible to provide assistance in performing day to day activities of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal and state regulations and organization/department policies and procedures governing our facility to ensure that quality food service is provided in a timely manner.
Assists in patient/staff meal service and special functions.
Assists in dishwashing operation and completes cleaning tasks.
Essential Job Functions1.
Assists in preparation and/or pre-portioning of food/beverages.
Follows patient preferences, menus, portion control, and diet modifications.
2.
Assists in assembling and serving of patient's meals.
Insures that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner.
Follows patient diets as ordered.
3.
Follows proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures.
4.
Completes daily forms/logs (ie, receiving; temperatures:
food, refrigeration, dish machine; sanitizer, pot/pan sink), follows HACCP policies/procedures.
Maintains proper food temps throughout food preparation and service.
5.
Assists in receiving, storing and verifying invoices for incoming food/supplies.
Follows food storage policies/procedures (ie, labels, dates & stores food properly).
6.
Provides food service for special functions.
7.
Follows proper ware washing (manual and automatic) policies/procedures.
8.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with regulations.
Completes cleaning duties and cleaning schedules as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language, and perform simple math functions.
Must have the ability to follow oral and written directions, observe all safety rules, work cooperatively with other staff, and interact effectively with the general public.
Educational RequirementsMust be at least 16 years of age.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
