The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant.
Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models.
Join our team as a Maintenance Mechanical (Labor Pool).
SPECIFIC DUTIES Prerequisites:
oJourneyman Card (related to the job opening) and/or Seven years of applicable experience as a qualified machine repair person, toolmaker, or machine tool builder in troubleshooting, machine repair, tool making, machine building, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
oHave a basic understanding of electricity and electrical systems.
oDemonstrated ability to read and utilize prints of machine assembly, layouts, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
oExperience in performing basic machine alignment using precision instruments in either metric or English measurement systems.
oHave a good understanding of tool room equipment, operations associated with drilling, milling, surface grinding, and lathe operations.
oExperience in maintaining mechanical drives, presses, and basic welding.
oMust have basic understanding of PC's and basic PC skills.
oMust have good verbal communication skills.
oMust be a proven self-starter with a willingness to work in a team environment.
Job Duties:
oSupport the production operation by providing immediate response to all breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and follow all escalation processes as defined.
oAbility to perform production tasks as necessary or required by the situation.
oTroubleshoot and perform all required mechanical maintenance on automated equipment.
oPerforms lubrication tasks as necessaryoPerforms welding repairs as necessary.
oUnderstandingof Mechanical and Hydraulic PressesoUnderstanding of Laser cutting equipmentoUnderstanding of ovens and burner controlsoInsure machine availability goals are met by participating in and organizing Root Cause Analysis activities to improve equipment up-time.
oAssists in training employees in production roles to perform simple maintenance tasks as associated with TPM.
oUnderstand Predictive Maintenance technologies in order to understand when they apply to problems and participate in utilizing them as deemed necessaryoWears communication device as deemed necessaryoActively participate in any Skills Training Program requiredoLockout equipment to be maintained and follow all safety practices and procedures.
oWears all required PPE for task being performedoPerform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
oUtilize the CMMS to record and track work activities including time keeping, historical equipment repairs and work order/PM closuresoOperates necessary material handling equipment to transport supplies to job and to make installations and repairs.
oPerforms routine and customary material handling and housekeeping associated with the job.
oInstructs helper or apprentice and acts as leader on jobs as required.
