Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Director-Communications, Communication Specialists execute tactics to support communication plans in support of WellSpan's strategic plan and short- and long-term goals.
Communications Specialists proactively identify communication opportunities and needs related to strategic communications, corporate communications, executive communications, media and community relations, content strategy and social media.
Communications Specialists contribute to an integrated, collaborative, data-driven Communications Team that is known for high reliability and excellence in execution.
Duties and Responsibilities Collaborates with communications team members to identify content for internal channels to educate, inform, motivate and engage employees.
Proposes and implements calendars highlighting organizational mission, vision, values and priorities.
Manages daily intranet including editorial calendar, writing, posting, creating pages, monitoring etc.
Manages production of multiple internal newsletters every week including gathering content, providing status on content, and organizing, writing, editing, formatting and managing approvals of content.
Works in multiple content management systems for creating and posting content on the website and intranet and works in distribution platform such as Constant Contact or other similar platforms.
Works collaboratively with the Communications Team and health system leaders to identify priorities and develop/implement annual plans to support strategic priorities or implement best-in-class communication channels and plans.
Continuously scans the internal and external environment, understands the system's major strategic and operating priorities and identifies relevant communications opportunities Coordinates, writes and produces communication tools including e-newsletters, talking points, speeches, articles, publications, brochures, posters, news releases, feature stories, online content, etc.
Responsible for photography and videography of system functions and other related activities.
Plans and coordinates meetings and special events to meet designated objectives Qualifications Minimum
Experience:
2 -3 years Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree Minimum Field Of Expertise:
Communications, Journalism or Public Relations, preferably with experience in a large, complex healthcare organization Skills:
Proven ability to apply communications strategies to high-level organizational priorities; Critical thinking, superior journalistic writing and solid interpersonal skills.
Proficient in AP Style Experience managing intranet content Experience with Sharepoint Experience working in content management systems Qualifications.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
