DESCRIPTION:
Our client is looking for someone to join their Supply Chain team. They are seeking a skilled Senior Supply Chain Professional to join the team. The Senior Supply Chain Professional will take a leadership role in managing key elements of the Supply Chain/Logistics/Procurement process. The individual must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and run with critical areas of responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong Procurement background, and the ability to match keen analytic abilities with the flexibility of thought and creativity to work through the gray areas of complex tasks and situations. This position is a strategic role within the North American operations and offers high management visibility.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring finished product availability and inventory at optimal levels considering demand volatility and also volatility from internal and external sources of supply
Using the Demand Forecast to carry out Net Requirement Planning in Excel
Leading meetings with Sales & Marketing to review the Net Requirement Plan & Planned Replenishments, and to also review the Exception List (too high and too low inventory level items) with follow-up on Corrective Actions
Leading the Monthly Follow-up Meeting on Total Working Capital in North America: coordinating with other key stakeholders on information requirements and follow-up on Actions leading to measurable Results
Serving as a core team member during the ongoing implementation of the Diskover Forecasting & Planning System and will also be involved in the implementation of the relevant modules of SAP at the Company
Supporting all areas of Supply Chain as necessary and maintain effective working relationships and communication with stakeholders and internal customers
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Education: B.S. in Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, Business Administration, Procurement or equivalent experience
5-10 years prior experience working in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Materials Management
2
years Procurement experience
Prior experience in carrying out Forecasting and Net Requirement Planning
Experience in leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Meetings
Excel proficiency
Prior experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP or Baan
Preferred
Experience:
Experience with Supply Chain Planning Systems like Diskover, Demand Solutions or JDA/i2/Manugistics
APICS or ISM certification or training
Industrial Manufacturing and/or Refractory company experience
Experience in a global company with domestic and international transportation and warehousing
Additional Languages would be a plus: Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and/or Chinese
