POSITION:
Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis
DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for the process of financial forecasting as well as operational and financial analysis.
Essential Job Functions
Develop and support insightful metrics and key performance indicators for all areas of the business.
Support the manufacturing team's productivity improvement initiatives and make/buy analysis.
Support working capital reduction initiatives, with particular focus on inventory, by developing targets and creating monitoring tools to measure progress towards the targets.
Prepare the 18 month rolling forecast, annual frozen forecast (i.e. annual plan) and strategic review plan.
Work with finance, product management and sales teams to develop sales forecasts by product, geography and currency.
Work with all functions to develop personnel, manufacturing and other cost forecasts.
Develop tools for comparing actual results to forecast with a focus on:
Providing all levels of management the ability to control and manage expenditures.
Providing meaningful explanations as to the reasons for variances.
Automating the process as much as possible to reduce the amount of time determining what has happened so that we can focus on why it has happened.
Prepare and maintain standard costs for labor and manufacturing overheads by site. Develop variance analysis.
Provide financial support for capital expenditure justifications and post implementation analysis.
Draft the monthly Finance Director's report.
Work with the VP of Finance, Controller and staff, as needed, to complete the monthly financial close.
Provide acquisition due diligence and integration support.
Perform ad hoc analysis as needed by the Vice President of Finance.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum 5 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, operations reporting and financial analysis.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Manufacturing experience is required.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff, parent company financial staff, and outside business contacts. Must be able to communicate effectively with others to explain economic or financial analyses in easy to understand language.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
Public accounting experience preferred.
CPA or CMA preferred.
